Extreme weather - shortened school days next week

Dear Parent/Carer,

Extreme weather - shortened school days next week

Due to the extreme weather warning for both Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th July, we have decided that for Health & Safety reasons to have a shortened school day.

Students will arrive at the normal time of 8.40am and finish school at 12.30pm. They will still have their lunch in school and we will ensure that students do not lose out on their learning over the 2 days by shortening the length of each lesson that they have in order to accommodate for the early finish.

Students will also have the option to attend school in their PE kit if they wish to do so.  They also do not need to wear their school tie or blazer if they chose to wear school uniform.

Please ensure that you child attends school with plenty of water to keep themselves hydrated.

It is important that students make their way straight home after being dismissed so that they are not outside in the open and being affected by the extremely heat.

The school trips scheduled for Wednesday 20th July will still go ahead as planned.

Kind regards, Arthur Barzey, Headteacher
