Year 10s visit Harry Potter studios

Last week, our Year 10 Media Studies class enjoyed an all access tour of the Warner Bros set in London, where the legendary Harry Potter films were created.

We were fortunate to observe the original props, costumes and effects that were used in the films.

Students also received a demonstration from industry experts who showed us how the special effects were created.

Everybody had the chance to climb aboard a broomstick and catch the golden snitch; all through the magic of green screen technology!

We closed the day with an insiders talk revealing trade secrets about the films, and further insight into how Harry Potter has become the worldwide sensation that it still is today.

The visit also served to show the students many potential careers that could be open to them across a range of jobs.
