School will not be open on Monday, 16 March

Heron Hall Academy will be closed tomorrow, Monday, 16 March as a precautionary measure. On Saturday a student has been reported to be unwell with symptoms that may require coronavirus testing. Unfortunately we have not been able to contact the family over the weekend. In these circumstances at this time, we will be erring on the side of caution and will not be opening the school. During this closure our cleaning teams will be undertaking a deep clean so that we are able to ensure that we have taken effective action quickly and ready to open on Tuesday if advised to do so. We will be guided by advice from Public Health England about reopening the school. In line with government guidance we are reminding our families and staff to call NHS 111 if they are feeling unwell and showing signs of any of the symptoms. We stress that this is not a confirmed case. The school has been working on contingency plans for home working. We will advise you of these as soon as we are able to. Arthur Barzey, Headteacher
