David Maytham Appointed Headteacher of Heron Hall Academy

David Maytham has been appointed Headteacher of Heron Hall Academy.

David has led the school as Interim Headteacher for the past seven months. During this time, he has brought calm, experienced leadership, established clear priorities and built strong relationships across the school community.

He has extensive experience in education and school improvement, working with primary and secondary schools on leadership, curriculum, behaviour, safeguarding and raising standards.

Dr Donald Graham, Chair of the Board of Trustees, said:

“David impressed us with the ambition he has for Heron Hall’s children, the strength of his leadership and the way he connects every decision to their progress, opportunities and future success. During his time as Interim Headteacher, he has shown that he understands the school, recognises its strengths and knows how to build on them. We are delighted to appoint him as Headteacher and excited about what Heron Hall’s children can achieve under his leadership.”

David said:

“I am delighted to have been appointed Headteacher of Heron Hall Academy. It has been a privilege to lead the school over the past seven months, and I am looking forward to continuing to work with our staff, children and families.”
