Kind hearted Heron students support food bank

Heron headteacher Arthur Barzey (far left, below) joined Year 7s this week who had collected an impressive ten bags of dried and canned foods to donate to the North Enfield Food Bank. The charity did a presentation at the school explaining the importance of food banks in the local community. Well done Year 7s.

Madam Lobban writes:

As part of the school’s Kindness initiative 7L had many discussions on what kindness is and how we could show this virtue through our actions. As a result we decided that we would do a food collection throughout the year group with the aim to donate to those in need. With the help of 7B we collected an impressive ten bags of dried and canned foods. It was pleasing to see these form groups fully engaged as a representative from the North Enfield Food Bank did a presentation explaining the importance of food banks in the local community. The session finished with our Head teacher reminding the students of the importance of showing love to each other in our daily lives.

I would like to thank all year 7 form tutors who encouraged their students to participate, as well as Madam Sealey and Madam Bryan for their support.
