Advice for parents on encouraging independence

We have a range of booklets on our website to support our parents and their children.

There is a number of benefits that are associated with being more independent. 

Developing independence within children can increase academic success, improve motivation and confidence, as well as help students to recognise their own strengths and weaknesses.  

Independent learning does not mean working alone. Teachers and parents need to support children’s learning and ensure it is structured, productive, and effective.
