National charity delivering programmes for BAME students

For the last 3 weeks, the school has been working with the Black Training and Enterprise Group (BTEG) to hold some fantastic workshops for students.

The Black Training and Enterprise Group (BTEG) is a national charity delivering programmes for young black, Asian, and minority ethnic (BAME) people.

The sessions at Heron are for our female students in years 9 and 10 who are of Black, Asian, and minority ethnic backgrounds.

The workshop is designed to help them develop their employment skills by introducing them to successful women in a range of careers.

From the programme, students have had the opportunity to learn from successful business owners, lawyers, and accountants.

This initiative has been very beneficial to our pupils helping them to learn some valuable employment skills for the future!
