Advice from the MET police on phone scams and how to protect yourself
Due to current circumstances there has been an increase in phone related scams.
According to the met, the most common way individuals choose to lure people in is by the three methods listed below.
1. Your computer has a problem
2. A fraud investigation
3. An investment opportunity
We are urging our parents and children to be extra vigilant and cautious during these times to avoid becoming a victim of any phone related scam.
The Metropolitan police have provided a document with more information on the different types of scams, how to protect yourself and also how to report it.
