Studying for the Extended Project Qualification
All Year 12 Advanced level students will undertake the EPQ qualification.
This counts towards a Level 3qualification and will support students to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding required for A-level and degree level study.
Students can either produce a written assignment of 5,000 words, a performance or a model (which must include a written report of at least 1,000 words).
The EPQ will support students to develop skills such as planning, research, critical thinking, analysis, synthesis, evaluation, and independent study skills. 30 hours will be taught, and 90 hours will include independent study.
The EPQ is equivalent to half an A-level and as such will help to enhance a university application.
